Saint Aidan's Parish Hall
Situated right next door to the Church, our Hall is the meeting place for most of the community activities that happen in New Parks. We are currently having the Hall totally renovated after many years of neglect and are hoping to have the new kitchen in and working by September of this year.
There are many people and organisations that hire the Hall for functions, sports classes, as a meeting place or even as a place of worship. If you might be interested in hiring the Church Hall for a function, please ring Jan Collins, our Hall Manager on 07852 478932 for rates and availability
The ongoing restoration of our Parish Hall is something of a huge task - simply because there are so few people willing to donate serious money to the renovation of this very important community resource.
Nearly all of the renovation work has either been donated (for example by people like Probation Services) or paid for by the congregation of Saint Aidan's itself.
To date, we have had the hall completely repainted, had a new central heating system installed, and renovated the kitchen.
This has been done by an enormous amount of good will on the part of the congregation who are so keen for members of the community to have this resource at their disposal.
We are now in need of serious fundraising to help us re-furbish the toilet facilities and create better storage for those wishing to use the Hall. If you have any knowledge of funds, we would be so happy to hear from you!
By far the biggest project undertaken so far has been the renovation of the Hall Kitchen. Please click on the picture to see some of the works in progress.
We are thrilled that we have at last a kitchen worthy of this wonderful community resource.
Most recently, we have had the toilets in the Hall renovated and brought up to proper Health and Safety Standards. Strangely these toilets were only 5 years old! It is sad to think that they needed such attention so soon after their installation.
