Shrove Tuesday (or Mardi Gras as it's known) is the last day before Lent begins. In that vein it has always been a day to have a final party before the spiritual rigours of Lent begin. Always quick to want a party, Saint Aidan's has always kept Shrove Tuesday with a Sung Mass followed by a pancake party in the Parish Hall. This has also been the one time in the year when Fr Simon calls the Bingo!
